Our buddy Meathead was the inspiration for this super easy and delicious recipe. We love nothing better than cooking breakfast on the grill over the weekends but French Toast was a new one for us on the grill. The results were exceptionally good and everyone agreed it was not only visually stunning but the finish on the GrillGrates gave it a truly unique flavor.

  • Yields: 6 pieces of French Toast

Ingredients

For French Toast

6 slices 1" thick cut crusty bread

6 whole eggs

6 oz whole milk

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla

6 tbsp butter

For Topping

1 cup grade B real maple syrup

2 cups chunked fresh fruit and berries

Directions

1Bring maple syrup to room temp or microwave for 20 seconds.

2Preheat grill and griddle to medium heat

3In a large mixing bowl whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla until thoroughly combined.

4Dunk each piece of bread into egg wash mixture for at least 20 seconds until completely saturated. Remove to a platter to transport out to grill.

5Place butter on griddle and coat the entire griddle surface. Arrange soaked bread slices on griddle and close grill lid for 3 minutes. Open grill and flip the bread over. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes.

6Move French Toast over to GrillGrates for 1 minute. Lift and twist. Grill an additional minute before flipping over. Repeat.

7Remove to clean serving platter. Garnish with warm maple syrup and fruit.
